These Terms of Use govern your use of the PALS (Pet Awareness for Living Safely) Alexa skill developed by The Gerontechnology Group. By enabling and using this skill, you agree to these terms.

Acceptance of Terms

By enabling the PALS skill on your Alexa device, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please disable the skill immediately.

Description of Service

PALS is an Alexa skill designed to help older adults living with pets stay safe at home by providing pet proximity alerts, location tracking, and safety reporting features. PALS offers both free and premium subscription features.

Not a Medical Device

PALS is not a medical device and is not intended to replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. PALS is not a substitute for emergency services. In any life-threatening situation, always call emergency services directly. The Gerontechnology Group makes no medical claims regarding the effectiveness of PALS in preventing falls or injuries.

Eligibility

PALS is intended for use by adults aged 18 and older. By using this skill you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age. PALS is available to customers in the United States only.

Premium Subscription

PALS offers optional premium features through an in-skill subscription purchased through Amazon. By subscribing to PALS Pro you agree to the subscription terms presented during the purchase flow. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Alexa app. Refund requests are handled through Amazon's standard refund process.

User Responsibilities

By using PALS you agree to:

• Use the skill only for its intended purpose of home safety monitoring
• Provide accurate information when setting up contacts and preferences
• Not attempt to misuse, reverse engineer, or interfere with the skill
• Ensure that any designated emergency contacts have consented to receive notifications
• Not rely solely on PALS in emergency situations

Limitation of Liability

The Gerontechnology Group provides PALS on an as-is basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Gerontechnology Group shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use PALS, including but not limited to any falls, injuries, or accidents that may occur.

Intellectual Property

PALS and all associated content, branding, and technology are the intellectual property of The Gerontechnology Group. P.A.L.S. and Pet Awareness for Living Safely are trademarks of The Gerontechnology Group. Unauthorized use is prohibited.

Amazon Alexa Platform

PALS operates on the Amazon Alexa platform. Your use of Alexa is subject to Amazon's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. The Gerontechnology Group is not responsible for the Alexa platform or Amazon's services.

Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Continued use of PALS after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
